I do have to admit that Fear No Color was a bit tested yesterday. I opened a box of very slightly used Diane Townsends Darks Terrages Pastels. I was the lucky recipient of these pastels when an artist friend decided she didn't like them, They really are all very nearly black; you can't even tell they aren't black until you drag them across your paper. When you do that you see they are greenish, bluish or brownish blacks. I loved them! They are dark, velvety, dense, and really beautiful. They are also just the thing to make color sing.
Art Supplies are such an investment that it is hard to jump in and try new things. Adding something new can be just the thing to get you inspired. It's great when you can swap or try before you buy from artist friends.
