I make paintings using colorful representational and abstract images to illuminate concepts like age, beauty, place, strength, and visibility in a way that reveals some truth and emotion. Working in various media I try to simply stay in the moment putting one color next to another while exploring the addition and subtraction of energy in each piece.
Maryann Didriksen is a contemporary painter working in various media. She explores the addition and subtraction of energy and color in her work. Her exuberant paintings probe the concept of age, beauty, place, strength and visibility. Before returning to painting full-time, Maryann worked as an Art Director and graphic designer. She holds a BFA from Alfred University and is a signature member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey. She lives and works in Morris County, New Jersey.
