Keep values in mind but don't be a slave to it.
Don't rework, brush off and apply new color.
Work on a dark surface.
Make one mark instead of several strokes.
Don't be afraid of the brightest versions of the colors you see.
Use distinct color. Make a statement. Don't be wishy-washy.
Bold doesn't have to be crazy rainbow colors. Use contrast.
Pay attention to your darks. Darks make bright brighter.
If it's not working, start again.
Shoot for having all the color readable but the marks unified.
Use color place holders when designing your composition.
Use bits of color to spark other colors.
