I use my studio for painting and do all my marketing, correspondence, bill paying and supply ordering upstairs in our "office". I do find myself doing other things besides painting, some of these tasks are productive, such as taking photos and setting up still life's or packing sales for shipping, but some of them are of the avoidance behavior type. Below is a partial list of how I spend my time.
crumple up drawings and throw them
Sort reference pictures
put head in hands and say out loud ugh I need new pictures...
pile list in corner where other lists go to die
Think too much, get in bad mood, go upstairs and eat a yogurt
Drink cold coffee even though microwave is 15 steps away
Watch art films and documentaries
Add horror movies to my netflix queue
Read art books and magazines
read People Magazine on my ipad
Look at paintings
look at paintings, move them around put head in hands... etc.
Cut up rags
make piles of rag dust and lint
Sleep, probably snoring...
